Time for an update
Hey y'all,
I know theres been some radio silence of late, but rest assured I am steadily working away at some very cool things. I am keen to get back to regular updates soon.
It's been a big summer holiday period, and in spite of the beachgoing and sunshine, my dog having a litter of pups and other disasters - I have managed to finish up a few things:
1) I finished the colours on The Castle part 3, due to launch sometime this year through Bolt Comics.
2) I am about 3 quarters of the way through colouring A Brigand's Tale number 1, the 10 Year anniversary edition. It's where it all began for Brigand and the Hunter's guild but now in glorious full colour!!
See for yourself:
It sports an all new cover and you can actually grab yourself a copy right now as it is being included as an add on in The Adventurers, Beginnings Graphic Novel.

I suppose you could also support the main project there too. I mean it has been my brothers passion project for over a decade, and its actually really well done, with fantastic story telling* in fact.
*I know I did a 4 page back up story that may feature in the graphic novel, but I can't actually confirm or deny that this will be included tho...
3) The next big outing for Brigand and Co is in the works and its coming up nice so far, I'm hoping to have it done by year end. In the meantime, pop your eyeballs on the brand new cover art for A Brigands Tale #1 10 Year anniversary edition:

So me and my girls are driving to school rocking out to some sweet tracks from the My Hero Academia soundtrack, namely Jet Set Run (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRTade1do8o). My eldest daughter then says "this music would be great in training montage..." and then, both daughters simultaneously said, (and I kid you not) "...but Eye of the Tiger would be better". This is even more remarkable because neither of them have seen Rocky 3 yet. What can I say, being precocious must run in the family...
Speaking of great Kickstarter projects, my good pal Ryan Kroboth is launching a new book called Wurst & Mayhem and I think he is gonna have a hit on his hands, do yourself a favour and get in on this at the start while backing people who love cartooning! It's got an extended preview on the campaign page and looks like loads of fun!

Last but not least, and don't sleep on this one - its nearly over, your chance to catch up on 30 years of Australian Comic history with Greener Pastures #8. Tim is aussie comic book royalty and he blazed the trail of selling creator owned comics through newsagencies back in the 90's man, the 90's! What's hitting now, brah?
Imagine if you will, discovering an amazing band years after they have actually stopped recording(I'm talking about Search The City). And then, to your dismay that they in fact only ever recorded 2 albums. Then continue to imagine, that to your surprise, when Spotify recommends tracks from a band that is arguably better, screamier, and has a back catalogue!
This my friends was no journey of imagination, this was how I discovered Survive Said The Prophet. Let's just say this has basically been the only thing on high rotation(and by that I mean almost exclusively beeing listened to) since October last year, and I'm pretty sure will be on high rotation for another 2 or 3 years - maybe even forever. They just can't make a bad song! At any rate I have done all the hard work for you and made a playlist on Spotify. See below to have your earbuds blown away.
Must listens for me are Mukanjyo (either version), Spectrum, Last Dance Lullaby, Ne:One, Bandaid, Mary and Paradox.

We spent the summer school holidays button mashing Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 on the PS4, which led to my girl's interest in the characters being piqued. They favoured the female characters like Sakura, Hinata etc. I explained to them they can find out all about them by reading the Naruto manga series. Colour me excited that just this very eve they have finished up reading all 72 volumes of the series since January this year. I love how comics can get kids reading, also I love that spending the years to obtain the full 72 volume set allowed this to happen. I'm not so sure if I busted out the ipad and said "Hey kids, check out this whole series on the internet..." it would have had the same impact... They got me so excited I'm gonna do a Naruto re-read this year too!
That's it from me, do yourself a favour and support independant creators!
Peace out.
